The Howard Eberts Scholarship was created in 2011 after our beloved 35-year veteran of DECA Camp passed away. Howard was the longest-running adult staff member of DECA Camp and helped photograph decades of campers. Through thick and thin, hardship and health problems, Howard would always make the journey from Hillsboro to camp every year with a smile and a story. The money raised through selling photo CDs at camp, advertising revenue on this website, and other small gifts all go towards this scholarship fund.

In honor of Howard Eberts, up to two scholarships in the amount of $195 will be awarded to:

  • Individuals that demonstrate a need and/or desire to attend camp for the first time
  • Chapters that have not sent students to camp in the last 2 years
