Youth Staff
The Youth Staff is a group of highly motivated former DECA camp participants that volunteer their time over the summer to bring the best experience possible to all camp attendees. They are all recent high school graduates who are responsible for running small group sessions, developing skits, leading groups through co-initiative small ropes course, having fun with all campers, collaborating with other Youth Staff, and working with adult staff members during the Summer Leadership Retreat.
The success of camp rests heavily on the shoulders of the leaders selected for Youth Staff.
Benefits of joining Youth Staff include leadership training, mentoring the future of Ohio DECA, building lifelong friendships, learning more about yourself than you could ever imagine, growing and maturing as an individual, repaying DECA and the Marketing Education community, and being a part of a talented group of diverse individuals with a history decades old.
If you are a motivated and friendly former DECA camp attendee and graduating senior that wishes to give back to the Ohio DECA community, then joining the Youth Staff is just for you! Applicants should be aware that are required to be available for ONE of the interview dates and ALL of the Prep Session and camp dates listed below.
Important Dates – 2013:
April 7th – 1st & 2nd year YS interviews at Olentangy HS
April 21st – 1st & 2nd year YS interviews at Olentangy HS
May 19th – Meet and Greet
June 11-12 – 1st prep session
June 25-26 – 2nd prep session
July 11 – 3rd prep session (at camp)
July 12-15 – Ohio DECA Summer Leadership Retreat 2013
